Best Instruments for Young Children to Play

MGRAURdec1Young children pick up skills a lot faster than we do. While that’s clear from the start, actually learning how to play a musical instrument is not an easy task even for an adult. Children who are only starting to develop may need a few more years before they are physically able to tackle certain instruments. Others, on the other hand, are far more manageable.

One of the best instruments to consider buying for your young child is a keyboard – whether it be a piano, organ, synthesizer or electric piano. This is simply because pressing keys on a keyboard is extremely easy, and your child is most likely to catch on pretty quick, learning all the notes and even starting to figure out songs without having to go through formal training.

The violin is also a possibility, although other stringed instruments such as a cello might not be indicated. The violin, on the other hand, is much easier to hold, and most young children even under the age of 10 will already have their hands developed enough to tackle the mechanics of the instrument.

Finally, if your child is at least 8-10 years of age, you can consider looking for used guitars for sale or an ukulele or a clarinet. Although these instruments belong to entirely different classifications of musical instruments, they are both suitable for that age group, and younger children seem to pick up the skill of playing them more easily.
